Willow Dove Pugs (WDP)
Welcome to WDP, proudly operated by a 28 year old dog lover and enthusiast with a lifetime of pug experience.
Willow Dove Pugs is a small in-home breeding program founded on promises to the future. From every tail wag to precious kiss, to each scent of puppy breath; every pedigreed puppy born today is a gift from the past. Their lineage & breed characteristics are due to the passion and dedication from many breeders over countless years.
All of my breeding pugs are of European champion lines and out of champion or grand champion parent(s). It's no secret that many of the healthiest and most attractive dogs in the world are born and raised in Europe, and so I brought these beautiful lines to America from wonderful breeders with ethics the same as my own.
I believe in small scale in-home rearing. My adult dogs are kept on a high-quality rabbit based kibble topped with pre-made raw organic rabbit and added supplements. My puppies are raised on the highest quality puppy kibble - Orijin Amazing Grains puppy food - and are brought up using a puppy rearing process involving socialization, litter box training (teaches puppies to hold themselves until they're in the right place), and plenty of mental stimulation.
No kennel building here! My adult dogs and puppies are kept inside my home with everyday play/stimulation as well as plenty of outdoor potty breaks and weather-permitting playtime in my beautiful back yard. My dogs stay in a huge indoor playpen or are loose in the house when not playing outside. No crates are used unless I'm rearing an older puppy or isolation is needed.
Quality puppies are not cheap! So much time, money, and work goes into raising healthy puppies including acquiring/caring for their parents. You will not find a well bred purebred pug/pug-puppy at a shelter, but for those who want a cheap dog, seeking one from a local shelter/rescue would be suggested. Although shelter/rescue pets are cheap and need homes, note that the buyer should be prepared for much higher probability of medical bills (both short and long term) which can well exceed the cost of a quality puppy from a good breeder. The buyer of a shelter pet should also be prepared for behavioral/temperament issues and probable shorter lifespans given the dog's unknown genetics and background.
